Specifics of the event_
ACTION
LOUD WISH is a collaborative and participative performance inviting the public to make a resounding call for a sustainable future.
RITUAL
The wishes written down on yellow ribbons will be tied up to the library balconies creating an increasingly visual impact calling for action and for hope as the night goes by.
IDEAS
The intervention is inspired by the Japanese wish trees and encourages the audience to reflect upon the state of the world and to offer its wish for the future.
The Night Of Ideas, ‘Living on the Edge’_
In February 2020 LOUD SPRING joined The Night of Ideas, a collaborative and interactive seven-hour program of debate, performances, dance and music featuring top thinkers from San Francisco and beyond. This international event happening in more than 150 cities in the world was locally supported by the French Consulate, KQED, San Francisco Public Library, and the SFMOMA.
LOUD SPRING joined this marathon of philosophical debate, keynotes, panels, and interactive experiences with a site-specific community art installation. All through the night the LOUD TEAM engaged and encouraged the audience to make wishes for a conscious and sustainable future.
By the end of the night the 3rd balcony of the Main Library had turned yellow, filled with thousands of wishes. Those wishes represented as many commitments to reduce environmental impact and to help promote gender equality in 2020. The Night of Ideas was the first milestone of many more wishes to come since LOUD SPRING will expand this collaborative art piece to the next events first at La Cité Fertile, Paris.
